A broad leaf grass with an upright growth habit, Stylidium Raptor Pink (Stylidium armeria) is a stunning tufting Australian Native that features deep pink flowers held above the foliage. Attractive to pollinator species, this low maintenance plant is drought tolerant and tolerates light frost once established. Stylidium will grow well in a coastal situation, and grows in a wide range of soils and climates. The common name comes from the unusual way these flowers disperse pollen; they have a cocked trigger that springs upwards when an insect visits the flower and dumps a load of pollen on the back of it’s head; the insect then deposits on other flowers as it goes about it’s business.
