The Garden Closure
With deep sadness, we announce that The Garden in Dickson, will be closing its doors on Sunday, 4 May 2025, marking the end of 49 wonderful years serving the community.
For over four decades, The Garden has been more than just a business – it has been a cornerstone of the community, a place where budding gardeners have found guidance, experienced green thumbs have discovered rare plants, and customers have come to enjoy the beauty of nature in the suburbs.
Our dedicated team of florists at Flowers from The Garden has been integral to our success. They've been there for births, weddings and funerals and so many other celebrations over the years.
The decision to close has been a difficult one, but sustained economic pressures, including increasing wage costs, rising freight expenses, inflation, and higher interest rates, have made it no longer viable to continue trading.
"We are incredibly grateful to the Inner North community for your unwavering support over the years. Your loyalty has been the heart of our business, and we will deeply miss the relationships we have built with our valued customers," said Ann Gottaas, Owner/Manager of The Garden.

Customer FAQ's
Why is The Garden closing?
After serving the community for over 40 years, we have made the difficult decision to close due to sustained economic pressures, including rising wage costs, freight expenses, inflation, and interest rates. Unfortunately, it is no longer viable to continue trading.
What about Flowers from The Garden?
Our florist will continue to trade up until Sunday 4 May. Any bookings after that date will proceed as planned but no new bookings will be made.
When is the final day of trading?
Our final trading day will be Sunday, 4 May 2025.
Are you having a closing-down sale?
Yes! We will be holding multiple sales leading up to our final day:
Garden Club Sale
– Thursday, 24 April 2025 (exclusive to Garden Club Members)
Public Autumn Sale
– Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 April 2025
Final Closing Sale
– Thursday 1 – Sunday 4 May 2025
Can I still use my gift card or store credit?
Yes! We encourage all customers to redeem gift cards or store credit before Sunday, 4 May 2025. After that date, they will no longer be valid.
Can I still place special orders?
Unfortunately, we are no longer accepting special orders as we are winding down operations.
Will you still be getting new stock in?
We are no longer receiving new stock. However, there will be a closing-down sale on all remaining plants, pots, and garden products.
Will there be discounts on everything?
Yes, there will be progressive markdowns leading up to our final trading day. We recommend visiting early to get the best selection!
